More than 3,000 Chinese students have studied in Austria by the end of 2017, while about 700 Austrian students have studied in China.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna and the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz were officially established in 2006 and 2010 respectively, according to the Confucius Institute Headquarters.

In addition, the Confucius Classroom at Vienna Chinese School started running from 2009.
