Xueersi English, an education platform affiliated with the leading Chinese after-school tutoring service provider TAL Education Group, will continue to beef up the presence of technology in education and will upgrade its products to be more ability-based.

"Artificial intelligence will revolutionize how students learn. It can, for example, help students get involved in the learning environment effortlessly, which will greatly improve their learning efficiency," said Christopher Castro, a visiting lecturer at Tsinghua University.

"Both China and the US have gained momentum in AI education. Whoever leads the race will improve the country's education to a large extent," added he.

He made the comments Monday when Xueersi English launched World Elite, an upgraded learning system to boost students' learning abilities and broaden international perspectives.

The new system will adopt two advanced international teaching materials, namely Citizen Z and Reading Explorer.

Under the new system, students will gradually learn to solve problems through class discussions, presentations, speeches and debate with the help of English teachers from both home and abroad.

"Chinese students used to learn English through reading passages and practicing grammar. We want to innovate this learning mode by establishing this brand-new system," said Yin Xu, a head responsible for the primary school products of Xueersi English.

"We hope to aid students in learning English, cultivating their abilities to think as well as expanding their international horizons," he said.
