Ding Xiangfu, a 63-year-old villager from Hai'an county in Jiangsu province, started to learn the intangible cultural heritage of making dough figurines since he was 27 years old. For the past 37 years, he has been devoted to the art wholeheartedly.

He uses materials such as high-gluten flour, birthday cake pigments, sugar, salt and oil to knead different animals or characters. The dough figurines he made of characters from the classic TV drama Journey to the West are especially vivid. He sits on the street and sells the figurines while making them, attracting many pedestrians.
