A woman named Wu in Chengdu, Sichuan province, announced on her Sina Weibo on Friday to threatened legal action against a woman for not returning her dog, for blackmailing her and for killing her dog in past 15 days.

Wu posted her chat records with the woman called He Xingli on her Sina Weibo account, which triggered a large number of netizens’ anger toward He. Many of her personal information was posted on the internet by users.

According to thecover.cn, He has not decided whether to apologize in public and plans to sue Wu for releasing her private information on the internet.

The police said on Sina Weibo on Thursday that an investigation has been launched.

As thecover.cn reported, Wu, 23, who works in Chengdu, had raised a corgi 6 months ago. On Dec 23, her dog went missing and a security guard told her that two men had taken the animal.

However, one of the men told her that they had delivered the dog to 34-year-old He as the dog using its power of scent went to her.

On Dec 24, Wu added He’s WeChat. According to their chat records from Dec 24 to Jan 5, she asked for her dog, but instead of returning the animal, He demanded money from Wu for the dog and threatened to eat it or send it to restaurants selling dog meat.

In the past 15 days, He also sent some videos of the dog to Wu intermittently, and threatened Wu not to ask other people to contact her.

According to thecover.cn, Wu felt that He didn’t plan to give her dog back at all but was enjoying teasing her. As a result, Wu posted her experience on her Sina Weibo, which drew great attention.

Based on the dog videos He sent, Wu and some internet users found out where He lived, and came to He’s home to ask for the dog in person on Thursday.

With the help of local police, she came into He’s home on the sixth floor, only to find her bleeding dog lying on the ground. A nearly four-meter-long rope with several knots and bloodstains were found near the animal. The dog died after attempts to rescue it failed. Doctors said the dog died due to injuries sustained from a fall.

According to Wu’s Sina Weibo, on Friday’s morning, He apologized to her in tears at the police station.

Wu demanded on Friday that He must apologize to her on media, and should be punished by law and compensate her for her loss.

He’s husband told thecover.cn on Friday that they would not apologize in public and intend to sue Wu for revealing her privacy on the internet.

The police bureau of Longquanyi district, Chengdu, said on Sina Weibo on Thursday that an investigation was underway.
