China-made environment friendly buses began operating in Graz, Austria’s second-largest city in late November, according to the official website of Chinese embassy in Austria.

The electric buses are made by China Railway Rolling Corporation (CRRC) and it is the first time for the electric bus of CRRC to run in Europe.

The buses can be fully charged within 30 seconds by using 60,000 farads supercapacitor as its battery, reducing fuel consumption out of 6 million liters per year for the city.

The new buses are 18 meters long, with maximum capacity of 135 passengers. The facilities inside, including the seats, buttons, air conditioners, and shelves, are optimized for better experiences.

They save money, and reduce air and noise pollution, the Graz mayor Siegfried Nagl said. The local media and residents also praised the buses' superior energy saving performance.

Graz’s No.34 E line is currently set up with the Chinese electronic buses, running 3.5 km for the whole route, 24 hours a day.

Last year was the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the China and Austria. Two countries will continue seeking for bilateral cooperation in environment, economy and culture under the Belt and Road Initiative.
